What made you want to intern for Design Ready Controls?
“I interviewed with my supervisor Will and the entire process was very easy flowing. Will excited me for the potential to work here as the job description fits all of what I was learning in school and interested in. The best part was getting a tour and seeing the larger team, and production floor – everyone in the company was so welcoming and friendly.
What do you like most about Design Ready Controls, why?
“I think the internship program has been very well organized. They do a lot for the interns and prepare us for our careers going forward. The Friday workshops have been fun and very helpful- we have learned about LinkedIn, Outlook, cyber security, and more. I also had fun with the intern Olympics as it was a great experience with the other interns. I believe it’s important to have fun while also working at a company with good work culture.”
What kinds of projects are you currently working on right now?
The main project that Michael has been working on is updating and developing additional features for our Production Interface Monitor (PIM) system. Within PIM there are various pages in the software that display job reports, seating maps, and production schedules. Michael has also been changing the layout and UI of the pages calculating and demonstrating new production floor statistics to help provide our production supervisors with more real-time metrics and status updates.
What are your next steps and how has your Design Ready Controls internship prepared you?
Michael has one semester left of school and plans to start searching for a full-time job in software development. “This internship has introduced me to having a schedule and teaching me how to manage different tasks and communicate effectively with my team.”
