About Jameson
Jameson is from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and currently attends The Ohio State University, pursuing his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Outside of work and school, Jameson likes to do anything outdoors, especially golf, soccer, and tennis. He also loves camping and swimming. Jameson travels a lot with his family, his favorite family trip being Hawaii.
What made you want to intern for Design Ready Controls?
Having just finished his first year of college, Jameson looks to gain as much professional experience as possible. Immediately after Jameson’s interview with Design Ready Controls, he envisioned himself being part of the 2024 internship program and was most excited about the wide range of learning opportunities it would bring. Jameson aims to explore different career paths to better prepare himself and determine what exactly he wants to do following graduation.
What do you like most about Design Ready Controls, why?
Jameson started his internship in May and has appreciated the warm welcome by all the employees. The welcome and support have not only come from his department but many of the others as well. “Everyone is very friendly and acknowledges me as an employee,” Jameson says. He also really enjoys the projects he is working on because “there is a wide variety all providing the opportunity to apply previous knowledge I have learned from school.”
What kinds of projects are you currently working on right now?
“I don’t have any major projects right now; my days are typically spent working on updating drawings and occasionally building parts from scratch to then release to teams who need it.”
What are your next steps and how has your Design Ready Controls internship prepared you?
Jameson just completed his first year of college and is returning to Ohio State University in early August. Jameson’s internship at Design Ready Controls has pushed him to be more organized and set a schedule. He believes this internship allows him more responsibility than other students his age. Jameson enjoys real work experience and exposure and knows this will only benefit and prepare him for the future after graduation.
