Jeff Thorstad

Jeff Thorstad has taught in the Automation Robotics Engineering Technologies program at Hennepin Technical College in Eden Prairie since 2010. Jeff has a BA in Social Science/Secondary Education from St. John’s University, a MS from Capella University in Information Security, and an AAS in Automation Robotics Engineering from Hennepin Technical College.

Prior to joining the faculty at HTC Jeff spent 13 years in Industry performing Technical Training, Technical Support, Field Service, and Technical Sales. Since 2013 Jeff has obtained PMMI Mechatronics Certificates in Mechanical Components, Industrial Electricity 1, Industrial Electricity 2, Fluid Power, Programmable Logic Controllers 1, Programmable Logic Controllers 2, and Motors and Motor Controllers.

Currently, Jeff is on the Academic Affairs and Standards Council at HTC and a member of the 360 Manufacturing and Applied Engineering Center of Excellence Strategy Council. Courses taught at Hennepin Technical College include courses in Mechanical Components, Electrical Systems, Robotics, Programmable Logic Controls, and Pneumatic Systems.
